Children's Leadership

At Queen Elizabeth II Primary School, we believe our children play a key role in the direction of the school and their voice is important. We have our own children's leadership team who, through a variety of roles have a say in how we do things as a school, act as a voice for others and can make meaningful change.

Children have the opportunity each year to apply for a leadership position. They must complete an application form and obtain a reference as part of this process. Once chosen or elected to a position, they attend regular meetings and support the leadership team lead to deliver their responsibilities.

A copy of this application form can be found below.

Wellbeing Team

Our Wellbeing Team is made up of caring and committed pupils who help promote emotional health, kindness, and a sense of belonging throughout the school. These pupil leaders work together to support their peers, encourage positive relationships, and help make our school a happy and inclusive place for everyone.

Wellbeing Team members are involved in:

  • Welcoming new pupils and helping them settle in
  • Supporting classmates who may feel worried or upset
  • Promoting kindness, empathy, and friendship
  • Helping to lead wellbeing activities and awareness events

By listening, encouraging, and leading with compassion, our Wellbeing Team helps ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and valued at Queen Elizabeth II Primary School.

School Council

Our School Council gives pupils a meaningful voice in shaping their school experience. Elected by their classmates, School Councillors represent each year group and work together to share ideas, raise concerns, and help improve school life for everyone.

School Councillors are involved in:

  • Listening to pupil feedback and sharing it with staff
  • Helping to plan events and initiatives that support wellbeing, learning, and fun
  • Encouraging pupil participation in decision-making
  • Promoting a sense of responsibility and inclusion across the school

By taking part in regular meetings and leading projects, our School Council members develop confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of citizenship. Their contributions help make Queen Elizabeth II Primary a place where every voice matters.

The School council will organise events throughout the year to raise money in the three key areas of our charitable vision: Global, National and Local.

Eco-Council

Our Eco-Councillors are passionate pupil leaders who help drive our school’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Representing their peers, they work together to make Queen Elizabeth II Primary a greener, cleaner, and more eco-aware place to learn and grow.

Eco-Councillors take the lead in:

  • Encouraging recycling and reducing waste
  • Promoting energy-saving habits across the school
  • Organising eco-friendly initiatives, such as litter picks and biodiversity projects
  • Raising awareness about climate change and environmental issues

Through teamwork, creativity, and action, our Eco-Councillors inspire the whole school community to care for the planet and make positive choices for a sustainable future.

Values Ambassador

At Queen Elizabeth II Primary School, we believe that children thrive when they are empowered to lead with kindness, integrity, and respect. Our Values Ambassadors are a team of pupils chosen to champion the school’s core values across all aspects of school life.

These young leaders play a vital role in:

  • Promoting positive behaviour and respectful relationships
  • Supporting peers in making good choices
  • Celebrating acts of kindness and responsibility
  • Helping to shape a caring school culture through assemblies, events, and daily interactions

Values Ambassadors lead by example, inspiring others to live out our school values both in and beyond the classroom. Their voice helps guide our school community, making it a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and encouraged to be their best.
